Whirlybird Installation · Bangholme
Bangholme's roofs sit in full, largely unshaded sun for most of the day, and on properties with sheds and larger roof spans that heat builds up fast in the cavity above the ceiling. Without ventilation, that trapped heat pushes back down into the living areas and keeps the roof space hot well after the sun goes down. A whirlybird uses wind and the natural rise of hot air to continuously pull that heat out, easing the load on the roof space and any ceiling below it. We fit the turbine into the tile or colorbond roofline with properly sealed flashing, and size the number of turbines to the actual roof area rather than using a single standard fitting.
With little tree shade and long sun exposure across Bangholme's open blocks, roof cavities here run hotter for longer than in leafier suburbs, which makes ongoing heat extraction more valuable than on a shaded suburban roof.
Local roof weather
Bangholme sees around ~6 days above 35°C a year, and on those days an unventilated roof cavity turns into a heat store right above your ceilings.

The process
We look at roof size, pitch and existing airflow to work out how many vents you actually need — no over-selling.
Vents go high on the roof where the hottest air collects, balanced with the eave intake so air can actually move through.
On a tiled roof we lift the tiles, cut a neat penetration, and bed the flashing so it is fully weatherproof.
The turbine is seated in the flashing collar and the tiles are reinstated over the apron, leaving a clean, leak-free finish.
Installation differs by roof: on tiled roofs we cut and flash the penetration under the tile course, while on metal roofs the vent is flashed directly into the sheeting. Both need the flashing done properly — a rushed vent install is a classic future leak.
Installations are carried out by an insured team and the workmanship is backed by a 7-Year Workmanship Guarantee and a 10-Year Dulux Acratex Material Warranty.
