Whirlybird Installation · Fraser Rise
Volume-built estate homes like the ones through Fraser Rise are often finished without any real roof ventilation as standard, even though they're recent builds — insulation and sarking go in, but a way to actually exhaust hot air from the roof cavity frequently doesn't. With young street trees offering little shade yet, these roofs take full sun through summer and the trapped air heats the ceiling below well into the evening. A whirlybird vents that hot air continuously using wind and natural convection, no power required. We size the turbines to your roof and flash them into the tile or metal roofing for a fully weatherproof install.
Fraser Rise's young gardens leave most roofs fully exposed to the sun, so the heat-load case for a whirlybird is strong here even on a near-new home without established shade to soften the summer sun.
Local roof weather
Fraser Rise sees around ~7 days above 35°C a year, and on those days an unventilated roof cavity turns into a heat store right above your ceilings.

The process
We look at roof size, pitch and existing airflow to work out how many vents you actually need — no over-selling.
Vents go high on the roof where the hottest air collects, balanced with the eave intake so air can actually move through.
On a tiled roof we lift the tiles, cut a neat penetration, and bed the flashing so it is fully weatherproof.
The turbine is seated in the flashing collar and the tiles are reinstated over the apron, leaving a clean, leak-free finish.
Installation differs by roof: on tiled roofs we cut and flash the penetration under the tile course, while on metal roofs the vent is flashed directly into the sheeting. Both need the flashing done properly — a rushed vent install is a classic future leak.
Installations are carried out by an insured team and the workmanship is backed by a 7-Year Workmanship Guarantee and a 10-Year Dulux Acratex Material Warranty.
