Whirlybird Installation · Woodstock
Woodstock's rural-residential homes, many without built-in roof ventilation, trap heat and moisture in the roof cavity with nowhere to escape, and the area's notably high rainfall and bushland shade mean that trapped moisture can linger longer than almost anywhere else we service. A whirlybird uses wind and rising heat to continuously draw that air out, reducing moisture build-up that can affect roof timbers and cutting summer heat load in the ceiling below. It's a straightforward retrofit on the concrete tile and Colorbond common across the area.
Woodstock's high rainfall and bushland shade mean roof cavities here can hold onto moisture longer after rain than almost any other suburb we service, making ventilation especially valuable for protecting timbers.
Local roof weather
Woodstock sees around ~3 days above 35°C a year, and on those days an unventilated roof cavity turns into a heat store right above your ceilings.

The process
We look at roof size, pitch and existing airflow to work out how many vents you actually need — no over-selling.
Vents go high on the roof where the hottest air collects, balanced with the eave intake so air can actually move through.
On a tiled roof we lift the tiles, cut a neat penetration, and bed the flashing so it is fully weatherproof.
The turbine is seated in the flashing collar and the tiles are reinstated over the apron, leaving a clean, leak-free finish.
Installation differs by roof: on tiled roofs we cut and flash the penetration under the tile course, while on metal roofs the vent is flashed directly into the sheeting. Both need the flashing done properly — a rushed vent install is a classic future leak.
Installations are carried out by an insured team and the workmanship is backed by a 7-Year Workmanship Guarantee and a 10-Year Dulux Acratex Material Warranty.
